Authentic paella,
cooked fresh,
served with pride.

Malvinas Paellas brings the flavours of Spain to markets, festivals and celebrations across Tasmania — rice slow-cooked in traditional paella pans over open-flame gas burners, every week.

Our Story

From a market stall to your celebration table

Malvinas Paellas started out serving fresh paella at Launceston markets, Saturday after Saturday. Today we're still there — but we also bring our paella pans to festivals across the island and to private celebrations: weddings, birthdays and corporate events.

Every paella is cooked live, outdoors, on gas burners, following the same ritual every time: sofrito, saffron, just the right amount of stock, and the patience to let the rice do its work.

Who We Are

A family-run paella business

Malvinas Paellas is run by Juan and Daiana, an Argentine couple who have called Australia home for over seven years. Juan's paella journey wasn't formal training — it grew from friendship. He learned alongside Borja Hernández, a friend from the Canary Islands and a true paella lover, and years later crossed paths with Daniel, a restaurant owner from London who shares the same passion for the dish.

In 2023, that passion became a business at the Harvest Farmers Market — the stall that's still at the heart of everything we do, and where it all began.

Launceston is home now, and we're proudly Tasmanian — sourcing local seafood and produce wherever we can, and bringing that same care to every market, festival and private event we cater.
